Financial Planning & Analysis Lead
Position Summary
We’re seeking a seasoned finance professional with a strong background in investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity to take ownership of FP&A and strategic financial planning. This will be a “player” role initially, focused on hands-on modelling, reporting and fundraising support — but with a clear path to bring in additional resources as the scope expands.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a foundational senior finance role at a high-growth technology company operating at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, hardware and software. As the first dedicated FP&A hire, you'll work closely with the executive team & Finance Manager to shape the financial direction of the business.
You’ll own core responsibilities from day one — driving strategic financial modelling, budgeting and commercial insight. If you’re ready to lead with impact and grow into a key strategic voice within the business, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a comprehensive financial model for the business, ensuring robustness and adaptability.
- Develop and track revenue targets, partnering with key stakeholders across the business.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing meaningful variance analysis and commentary.
- Produce financial and commercial reports to guide strategic decision-making.
- Model various funding scenarios (debt, equity, hybrid), assessing impact on valuation and capital structure.
- Analyze and support deal structures, including scenario modelling and term negotiation input.
- Create high-quality investment materials such as pitch decks, memorandums and due diligence packages.
- Act as a strategic business partner, offering insights and analysis that shape operations and long-term planning.
- Support infrastructure and project finance efforts, especially in capex-intensive and energy-sensitive environments.
Ideal Profile
- Experience in investment banking, corporate finance or private equity is a must.
- Advanced Excel financial modelling capabilities are essential.
- Familiarity with valuation methods, debt structuring, and capital markets is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to communicate complex financial topics clearly to stakeholders.
- Background in the technology sector, ideally across both hardware and software domains
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a lean environment
Nice to Have
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (IaaS), data center financing, or hardware/software hybrid business models.
- Experience with hardware asset-backed lending or project finance (e.g., models where customer reservations fund build-outs).
- Background in capex-heavy industries or environments sensitive to energy costs.
